WHAT ARE THE STEPS IN APPLYING FOR A VOLUNTEER POSITION TO EITHER OF THESE PROGRAMS? WHAT, IF ANY, TRAINING IS INVOLVED?
To participate in this program, all one has to do is fill out an application. Once a background check and reference check are done, the volunteer interviews with the program coordinator to determine where they are placed. After orientation and training, which the stipend volunteer is paid for, they are placed in one of the partner sites/client homes. Ongoing evaluations and monthly in-services are provided to better prepare the volunteers for their positions.
