Senior Corps Volunteer Coordinator

Beth has recently joined Southwest 8 Senior Services as the Senior Corps Volunteer Coordinator for two new programs to our agency. The Foster Grandparent Program, which matches senior volunteers with special needs children in non-profit programs and schools, and the Senior Companion Program, which matches senior volunteers to homebound, independent living seniors. Beth attended both University of Louisiana in Lafayette, Louisiana, and Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge (Geaux Tigers!). She has 2 degrees, one in psychology/statistics, and one in math education. She has worked as a math teacher for most of her life, but took a break to have a baby at 40. She lives in Council Bluffs, IA, with her husband, Todd, and their daughter, Katie. She loves to cook, sing, read, and spend time with her family.
Fun Fact about Beth: “I studied voice and piano for years. My love for musicals and opera in not lost on my daughter. I am hoping for osmosis.”
